Swiss Clips

The Swiss Clip system uses spring loaded stainless steel clips at the sides of the frame pack, and has a locking pin and retainer to attach to, and hold a frame-pack up to 3/8 thick & 60 lbs.

I am framing with acrylic, double mat, and coroplast (plastic cardboard) as backing.
The clips spring off like missles - I can't get them to stay attached at all!
Any suggestions? I've tried to tape them, but they are too strong and pull the tape away.
